Minwax® Antique Oil Finish

Minwax® Antique Oil Finish is an oil-based protective finish that gives wood a soft, hand-rubbed lustre. It is durable, easily maintained, and highly resistant to staining. Minwax® Antique Oil Finish may be used over finished and unfinished wood.

Recommended uses: furniture, antiques, woodwork, cabinets, doors, paneling, accessories - not recommended for floors.

Minwax® Antique Oil Finish is recommended for interior wood surfaces such as cabinets, tables, paneling, doors and trim. It produces a soft lustre that is durable, easily maintained and highly resistant to staining.

It may be used over Minwax® wood stains or to protect and enhance the beauty of unfinished wood.

Directions

WARNING! Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may generate dust or fumes that contain lead. Exposure to lead dust or fumes may cause brain damage or other adverse health effects, especially in children or pregnant women. Controlling exposure to lead or other hazardous substances requires the use of proper protective equipment such as a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) and proper containment and cleanup. Directions

  1. Sand to obtain a smooth, uniform surface. Remove all dust with a cloth dampened with mineral spirits.
  2. Apply Minwax® Wood Finish™ Stain, if desired, following the label directions.
  3. Wipe or brush on a generous coat of Antique Oil. Apply in the direction of the grain.
  4. After 5-10 minutes, buff evenly with a clean, link-free cloth.
  5. Two coats are recommended. Wait 24 hours and apply a second coat.
  6. For additional gloss, repeat after 24 hours.

Note: If buffing is difficult, recoat surface immediately and buff.

Clean-Up: For easy clean-up use mineral spirits or paint thinner.

Coverage: Approximately 62-75 square feet per pint.
