Minwax® expert Bruce Johnson gives some tips on how to repair all types of wood damage, and which products to use. For touchup of minor scratches in stain finish, use Minwax® Wood Finish Stain Marker, which enables touchups and repair of furniture, cabinets, doors and floors.

To repair minor scratches, gouges, and nail holes, use Minwax® Wood Putty or Minwax® Blend-Fil Pencil. These products come in a variety of colors. For decayed or rotting wood, use Minwax® High Performance Wood Hardener. This product is a quick drying liquid formulated to strengthen and reinforce rotting wood.

To fill holes in split, damaged or rotted wood, use water and weather resistant Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler. To maintain your wood and keep it looking beautiful and clean, try Minwax® Wood Cleaner and Minwax® Hardwood Floor Cleaner.
