A Grand Entrance

Turn a front door’s first impression into a lasting one

Every home needs curb appeal and the front entrance is no exception. Over time, even relatively mild weather can be surprisingly harsh on your front door. Sun, rain, snow and temperature changes can leave it dull and faded.

A little TLC and some Minwax® was all that was needed to transform these mahogany doors from worn to welcoming. After the old finish was removed, the doors and surrounding trim required only light sanding to bring back their original mahogany beauty.

Next came an application of Minwax® Gel Stain Mahogany, which brought added depth and richness to the once dull, worn wood. To further enhance the color and add protection from moisture and sunlight, two coats of Minwax® Helmsman® Spar Urethane in a semi-gloss sheen were applied.

With this home’s front doors transformed from bland to grand, they are once again warm and inviting.
